Figure Drawing Workshops | Grasby Art Studio Calgary

Draw the human figure from life. Each session opens with a series of short poses for gesture and mass drawing, followed by a long pose where you may work in wet or dry mediums. We review the drawing process from Level 2 along the way to sharpen the accuracy of your work.

The principles learned in our Beginners Drawing series — or equivalent experience — are put to work across a series of gesture and longer-pose drawings.

December 12 & 19, 2026

Saturday mornings 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM that same December run our Charcoal on Canvas workshops — take one or both.

$95 — single workshop
$190 — both December workshops

Working with Teresa

These intermediate workshops are led by studio founder Teresa Grasby. Teresa takes on the subjects artists find most challenging and shares the efficient process she has developed for them, worked in a loose, expressive style. Many artists use the two sessions to build toward one large-format drawing to take home.

Level: Intermediate — for artists who have completed our Beginners Drawing series, or who have equivalent experience

Supplies

We provide the easels, boards and references. Please bring your preferred drawing materials with you on each workshop day. If you’re missing something, basic supplies and paper are at the front desk.
