Trees are a wonderful subject. Join our treescape painting workshops in NW Calgary (Bowness) and create a feature wall painting — capturing local deciduous or evergreen trees with an impressionistic or realistic palette, fat over lean.

What You'll Learn

• Create a luminous underpainting
• Lay out your own compelling composition
• Build an analogous or complementary colour palette
• Layer your paint fat over lean with brush and palette knife
• Finish a painting with a clear focal area, balanced for value and colour intensity

Working with Teresa

These intermediate workshops are led by studio founder Teresa Grasby. Teresa takes on the subjects artists find most challenging and shares the efficient process she has developed for them, worked in a loose, expressive style. Most artists use the four sessions to build one large-format canvas — a finished feature wall painting to take home.
