Treescapes - River Birch - PART 1, 2, 3, 4

Come celebrate fall colour. Join our treescapes workshop series for all levels of artist. In these workshops you will create a beautiful river birch painting featuring bold fall colours and textures. Each artist will:

CREATE an original river birch tree composition
LEARN to layer tones and create the forms & textures of birch bark and leaves
PRACTICE colour planning, mixing, and harmonizing
DEVELOP your palette knife painting skills
PRODUCE a feature wall painting to a high standard of care.
MEET other artists

95 / class, 4 classes
SUN Sept 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, 1-4pm, 4 classes are allotted for birch tree painting, you may choose your dates.
A basic kit is required.
You may pick one up on workshop day.

4 Sundays are scheduled for impasto birch tree workshops this fall! You may attend 1 to all of the dates.

PART 1 - Composition

You will create an underpainting and a luminous background for your treescape. You will create a compelling composition and focal area.

PART 2 - Texture and Form

You will create depth and increase contrast in your work by layering the paint "fat over lean". You will use palette knives to apply tree bark textures.
