Floral Workshops - Roses, Peonies, and Still Life Workshops

Join our flower painting workshops this spring, in acrylic or oil, featuring peonies, roses, or still life. In these workshops you will:

LEARN an effective process to paint flower forms and textures in a loose and flamboyant style
FOCUS on the subtle tones and flow of flower forms
BALANCE shadow temperature, colour intensity, and light
CREATEyour own composition
WORK with other artists with similar interests

95 / class, 3 classes
April 27, May 4, May 11 9-12pm for peonies, 1-4pm for roses, 6-9pm for still life. Three classes are allotted to these themes.
A basic kit is required

Three dates are reserved for the creation of the sunflower painting. You may attend 1, 2, or all 3 workshops.

PART 1 - Shadows and composition

In part 1 you will introduce colour harmony, colour intensity, and midtones. You will learn to create cold and warm zones and hard and soft edges.

PART 2 - Midtones and highlights

In part 2 you will balance your midtones and shadows to create a dynamic values and focal area. You will balance hard and soft flower edges.
