MOUNTAIN PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING WORKSHOPS

Join our mountain palette knife painting course and create a beautiful feature wall painting of the mountains. The month of March is allotted to mountain palette knife painting. This allows you progress at a relaxed pace, in a systematic fashion, towards a professional result that you can be proud of. The progression is as follows:

Underpainting and Composition Drawing

Mountain Shapes and Shadows

Mountain Midtones and Palette Knife Texture

Mountain Highlights and Detail

Finishing Details (trees, rivers, etc.)

In this course you will:

DISCOVER an effective process for mountain painting
LAYOUT a compelling mountain composition
PLAN your colour palette (realistic or impressionistic)
DISCOVER an effective process for mountain painting
LAYOUT a compelling mountain composition
PLAN your colour palette (realistic or impressionistic)
good tonality and colour harmony
LEARN to use palette knifes to create mountain shapes and textures
DEVELOP your palette knife painting skills
CREATE a beautiful feature wall painting

SUPPLIES:

You may paint in acrylic or oil. Acrylic is recommended for its drying speed. Special materials are provided for this workshop, however, a basic kit of heavy bodied acrylics or oils and a canvas are required. Should you need supplies we will have everything on hand in our store on workshop day. A basic supply kit and canvas options will be available to you.
